The Brownyard Group, the leading provider
of liability insurance to security guard firms, each year
recognizes a security officer for heroic and/or meritorious
action in the face of adversity. Since 1987, the W.H. Brownyard
Meritorious Award has been presented annually
to a nominated candidate who represents the best attributes
of a security officer, as judged by an independent panel.
The selected officer receives an award of $2,500, and the
ASIS organization receives a $5,000 donation in the name
of the guard’s employer.
“When my father – W.H. Brownyard – originally
proposed this idea, it was because he saw that guards didn’t
receive the recognition they deserved,” noted Brendan
Brownyard, CEO of Brownyard Group. “There are many
guard firms whose insurance records speak for themselves.
Their officers provide great protection, reduce losses,
and often thwart danger and tragedy by taking heroic action,” Brownyard
added.
The Brownyard Group is proud to offer the opportunity to

their best attributes as guards.
